On Friday 23 May at the Festival, hear carilloneur Dr Ian Cassells play a variety of tunes on the bells of St John’s Kirk. Listen for the magnificent bass bell (dating back to 1506) and the unique high notes – best heard from outside!
This Carillon forms part of the city’s War Memorial; its smaller predecessor can be screen on the north side of the church spire.
Perth’s carilloneur has performed in Britain and Europe, notable in Ieper/ Ypres to make the end of WW1.
